Happy Mother`s Day to all you moms out there :) May is such a lovely month. It`s the time of the year when the flowers bloom and the trees have turned green. And it`s a time for celebrations: Cinco de Mayo in Mexico, Mother`s Day and Memorial Day in the USA. Some Americans view Memorial Day as the unofficial beginning of the Summer. It`s a popular weekend for travel.

All things seem possible in May."

What`s new?

Some new contributions in my Favorite Blogger of the week Series. (For those of you who aren`t familiar with the concept, every week I ask another travel blogger to write a guest post. This way you get to know other travel writers with interesting stories to tell.)

“Have Baby Will Travel” talks about traveling with little kids and why it`s worth the effort. Or maybe you want to travel solo and experience a perfect solo day out in Paris.

Lots of cruises leave from the port of Miami, it`s one of the largest in the country. I gathered some information of places to see and where to stay pre-cruise: Port of Miami information. A lot of people consider a cruise, but think it`s boring. Well, think again and check out the entertainment aboard a cruise.

If you`re in the Northern part of Florida, you might want to check out these sights “GirlsGetaway” suggested: Alligators and Spanish Moss.

Some of you might now, I went on a trip last week to Italy. I met up with friends I met on my last cruise. (That`s what I love about cruising, the people you meet and the friendships that are built!) So I thought Italy would be a nice destination to put in a spotlight this month.

Destination in the Spotlight

Our tour started in Venice and I went a day earlier to meet up with Michela I met on Twitter (@rockytravel). You can follow my day in Venice and see the sights I`ve seen. Next stop was Bologna, as it was a good place to spend the night, before heading to Sorrento and visit Capri. We had the best Tagliatelle al ragù and saw Bologna by night! The story on Capri and the Amalfi coast drive will be on the website in the next days to come, keep an eye out for that, because they were both beautiful.

After Capri, we drove to the South of Italy to visit some family of my friends that live there. It was this cute little place called Satriano. The thing that surprised me most is the truth about Italian families and food. They made so much food and kept saying to “Mangiare, mangiare” ;-)
The last part of our Italy trip was spent in Rome. Lots of places to see in Rome, my favorites are still the Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain.
