Binalong Bay Beach, north east Tasmania, Australia

by Lisa Sutherland-Fraser
(Melbourne, Australia)

At 42S, Tasmania is not what you'd think of a tropical paradise, but Binalong Bay, the start to the region of Bay of Fires is the most beautiful beach I've been on in a long time, why? It is like white sugar with turquoise waters and you would think you were in the tropics. It is quite amazing. So much so I took a bag of it back with me home because it was so beautiful. Now I have my piece of pretend Caribbean!

In case you're not sure what '42S' is, as friends of mine pointed out, its 42 degrees S of latitude, sorry for confusion! L x
