NEW ENGLAND: Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park

One of the lovely places New England has to offer is Acadia National Park. (Located in the state of Maine, one of the six states of New England). You can come here to enjoy the amazing views and the beautiful nature.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Hotel

Bar Harbor Motel (100 Eden Street, Bar Harbor): This hotel is very good located, because it’s only a five minute drive into Bar Harbor center and a few minutes from the Acadia National Park entrance. The rooms were clean, spacious and at the reception they were very friendly and helpful if you had questions about the neighborhood. They don’t serve breakfast, but there is a breakfast buffet in the hotel across the street where you can eat for 10 dollars a person.

Town center

We went into the town center of Bar Harbor for some gift shopping and to have dinner. We ate at a restaurant called ‘Geddy’s’ and we all agreed it was really good! Everyone had ordered something different. And every dish was very good. There was a lot of choice, from pizza to the famous lobster of Maine (New England)!

Sightseeing

Whale watching

If you get the chance to go whale watching when you’re there (the season goes from May into October, but check tours dates first), you should definitely do this. The tour takes you out to sea at a place where they know whales come. It’s a tour from 3 - 3 and half hours. Don’t forget to bring a warm jacket, if you go, like we did, towards the end of September.
