Port of Miami Information

Did you know:
The Port of Miami is one of the largest ports in the country with more than 4.1 national and international cruise passengers arriving annually. They also house the world's most distinguished cruise lines that sail to the Caribbean and South America. Recently Norwegian Cruise Lines announced that their largest and most innovative Freestyle cruise ship, the EPIC, will call the Port of Miami their home port.*
I`ve been twice to Miami to start my cruise vacation. I always go a day earlier than the departure day, because when you have to travel overseas, you never know if your flights are going to be on time or your bags misplaced. (One of the helpful cruise tips, I`ve learned :)
Once my travel agent arranged for a car to pick us up to bring us to the hotel and the second time we had a shuttle to take us to our airport hotel. The next day the ship wasn`t sailing until the afternoon, so we took the opportunity to join a guided tour through Miami. After the tour, the bus dropped us off at the port.

Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale
Did you know: Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale has more than 5,300 ships docking there a year. Their thriving cruise industry has gained them a reputation as the "world's best cruise port." It is ideally located near the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International airport, and minutes from the golden beaches of the city. In November 2009 the port welcomed the largest ship to date, Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas.*
I personally haven`t taken a cruise from this port yet, but found interesting information on following websites: What is there to do/see?, Greater Fort Lauderdale, Tips on Arriving & Departing and getting there.
