Put their little hands to work

by Kim-Marie Evans
(Greenwich, CT, USA)

My pack rats

My pack rats

I travel with 4 small children in tow and my trips got a whole lot easier when I realized: "Hey, I have 8 little hands that could be helping."
I pack a change of clothes, snacks and a few favorite toys for each child in their back pack, and like cute little mules, I load them up.
Then each child gets one rolling suitcase. I love the Trunki suitcases because they are like little ride on toys, but any small rolling suitcase will do. Even a 3 year old can tow their own tiny piece of luggage. I pack all of their clothes in each identifiable bag, diapers and other essentials go with me.
By including them in the packing and hauling they feel very grown up and helpful, AND it's hard to run through the airport when you're weighed down with luggage, bonus for mom!
