Red Beach, Santorini

It's secluded, or as can be on a famous island. If you are there in non-peak months (Nov-Apr) you are almost guaranteed to be alone or close to it. I was there in Nov and was the only one for an hour!

You have to do a little precarious hiking to get to the beach proper, and it's fairly small, as far as beaches go, but the sands are an amazing rust-red color and the waters are of choice temperature. So unique!

Definitely in my top 5.

Nico, thanks for sharing this, I have to say, 'special' beach. When I think of a beach, I automatically think of white sandy beaches. But this proves that it isn't a necessity for a beautiful beach!
