Review of Eastern Caribbean cruise

Another short review. I hope I can convince you of making a cruise, maybe to the Eastern Caribbean!

Cruise ship: Carnival Cruises ‘Paradise’

Port of departure: Miami (FL). This cruise was 8 days with 3 days at sea, which gives you plenty of time to experience the nice facilities aboard the ship.

Ports

  • Nassau, Bahamas
  • La Romana, Dominican Republic
  • St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

Excursions

NASSAU

Here you can admire the huge and famous Atlantis Hotel. Of course you can also see the gorgeous white sand beaches, where you can relax under a waving coconut palm tree or go for a swim in the crystal clear ocean water of the Bahamas.

LA ROMANA

Dominican Republic can give you that feeling that you came home because of the friendly natives (only this home is sunnier :). Here I`ve done one of the nicest excursions I ever made.

We went on board of a speed boat that took us out to Saona. One of the most beautiful, idyllic islands I’ve ever seen. And trust me, I’ve already seen a lot!

There we were, treated to a delicious lunch under waving palm trees. After this relaxing afternoon, you have the opportunity to go for a swim or go snorkelling. Afterwards we took a catamaran back.

For me it was the first time on a catamaran, but I was sold for future excursions (in St Lucia on another cruise). The atmosphere on these boats in the Caribbean is great. Music, rum, sun and dancing! This is how a vacation should be!!!

ST THOMAS

St Thomas is one of the US Virgin Islands.

By now I made friends with fellow passengers and decided to discover the island with them. So as we came ashore, we took a taxi to drive us around the island.

The taxi driver is also your guide at that moment, which is great, because they are locals. If you’re with more persons (we were with 6) than this is also a nice way to make an excursion.
