4th of July

This is a special day in the USA. It’s the 4th of July or Independence Day! It’s my first Fourth of July in the US and I’m so excited!

I already saw a parade yesterday. People marching in a parade, kids on bikes, music being played... It was great to see.

Today, I started with going to the beach with my American friends. I searched for sea shells, went into the ocean for a swim, built a sand castle,... I had the best time! It’s a great experience going to the beach on the 4th, because almost everybody comes out to the beach and stays all day, until the evening when the fireworks start! That’s what we did too.

When it gets dark, everybody sits or lays on their towel or blanket and overlooks the sky, waiting for the fireworks to start... And then: BANG! The spectacle of light begins...
