Don’t wait until kids are grown

When I used to travel before our boys were born, I heard over and over again – “Good thing you are doing this now – before your kids are born.” Now that I have kids and am still traveling, I wonder where all that “advice” came from.

Traveling with kids is wonderful! You get to know your children in ways you never could at home and kids are the best travelers ever. They are capable of doing way more than most people think.

I guess my main tip here is to never doubt your child. Never, ever, doubt your child. Not even for one nanosecond.

I 100% Agree!

We are just starting out on our trip in Feb 2010. We have a 4.5 & a 2.5 yo and we’ll be tripping around Asia for the first 8 or 9 months and then off to Central and South America.

We don’t know how we’ll go with two such young kids but we know it’s better to try then to just sit back and bemoan not being about to travel because of the kids.

Hopefully I can update you in a few months and tell you how wonderful our trip is going.

Kind Regards,
Colin

Good advice!

Thanks for sharing this advice. Because a lot of people hold back because of insecurities how it all will work out with kids. But your family is the prove it’s all possible!
