Fresh-Air Buddy and Essential Oils

I have two tips- both have to do with dealing with stale cabin air and staying healthy in flight and after.

I have a Fresh-Air Buddy, a personal ionizer that I wear around my neck during flight. Supposedly, it ionizes and purifies the air right around my face (the stuff they recycle is not purified- they could put HEPA filter systems in, but they are expensive, so…. Since I have used it, I do not get sick after flying. My husband would always catch something on flights and then pass it on to me. He now has his own Buddy and we both stay healthy.

I also carry two, very pure (and purity is the key) essential oils to help me stay sanitized in flight, lemon and lavender. Both are reported to have ability to kill bacteria (and they smell great). Lavender is also know for being relaxing, so I get a double bonus.

How to use essential oils

You can use the lemon on your hands. I put lavender on the back of my neck and the pulse-points on my wrist. (You can also, if discreet, put it on the bottom of your feet.) You can also put a few drops in a small mister-bottle w/ distilled water and spay it to refresh your skin while on the flight to keep it hydrated.

Great tips – my wife often brings lavender too 🙂

Didn’t know that…

Thanks Billie for sharing this information. I didn’t know that there was something like a Fresh-Air Buddy. I learn something new every day 🙂
How do you use the essential oils? Do you just put a few drops on your hands or …?
