New England: White Mountains

By Isabelle Leave a Comment

White Mountains New England

Another place you have to add to your list while visiting New England, are the White Mountains (located in the state of New Hampshire). If you have the possibility of coming in the fall, to have a look at the Indian Summer, you won’t regret it! Have a look at some fall foliage photos.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Hotel

We stayed at the Hampton Inn at North Conway and this was a great hotel! The service was amazing. At the front desk they gave us lots of information and tips what to see, where to eat, … and all with a big smile! The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. It’s centrally located, you are close to Mount Washington, White Mountain National Forest and Kancamagus Highway.  This is a scenic drive you definitely have to make!

Sightseeing

You can visit Mount Washington by driving on the Mt. Washington Auto Road to reach the top of New England’s highest peak. You can drive it yourself, but we chose for a guided tour.

Reasons can be: you don’t like the fact that it’s just a small road going up and down, the weather is changes quickly up here or you just want the full experience without the hassle of having your eyes on the road.

Mount Washington New England

We loved our guided tour, because you could see everything and you get the explanation at the same time you see things, from your driver, who is also your guide at that moment. Guided tour: 26 $ for an adult Drive yourself: 20 $ for the car and driver and each additional adult: 7 $
