5 Reasons to Stay at Sheen Falls Lodge

By Isabelle Leave a Comment

Sheen Falls Lodge, a 5 star hotel in the county of Kerry, was our home for 2 nights during our road trip through Ireland. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider Sheen Falls Lodge on your next trip to Ireland.

Location

SFL at Sheen waterfallsThis hotel is located in a prime location next to the Sheen waterfalls in Kenmare. The town of Kenmare has a cozy feeling to it, where you can stroll along the shops or have a drink in one of the pubs. Kenmare is an ideal base for either exploring the Ring of Beara and/or the Ring of Kerry.

Room with a View

View from room at Sheen Falls LodgeThere`s not much to add to this than telling you that waking up to this view is wonderful. The Signature Suite we stayed at had stunning views with Kenmare Bay (as seen in the picture above) on one side and Sheen waterfalls on the other side. The suite itself is 1065sq ft (99sq mt) with a seating area, a desk and a large bathroom that offers a spa bath and shower.

A Spa Visit

Spa at Sheen Falls LodgeAt Sheen Falls Lodge you can enjoy massages and other spa treatments. Unfortunately I didn`t have enough time to experience it myself, but I had a quick look around at the Health Club and the pool also looked very inviting.

An Elegant Stay

Sun Lounge at Sheen Falls LodgeIf you`re looking for an elegant stay, you will appreciate Sheen Falls Lodge. The decor around the hotel oozes luxury and style. For example at the Sun Lounge,  the oldest part of SFL, you can enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon read while the sun lights up the room. The staff is very friendly and ready to help you with any request.

Activities

Buick at Sheen Falls LodgeThere are plenty of activities to do around here, besides visiting the Ring of Beara or Kerry. You could go for a river walk with a fishing guide, visit the lovely town of Kenmare, put your boots on and go mountain walking. There`s an opportunity for falconry, clay pigeon shooting and golf. Make sure to check out the Buick they have, a real classic from 1936.

Want to stay at Sheen Falls Lodge? The room I stayed at, was a Signature Suite and these start from 245 euro*/night. There are different room types that start at different rates.

A special thanks to Sheen Falls Lodge who invited me as their guest. However the opinions in this review are all my own.
