Skydiving in Spain

By Isabelle 2 Comments

Flying … who hasn`t dreamt about how it must feel. Being free as a bird, your wings taking you to new places.

Us, travelers, get onboard an airplane all the time to discover the world. On my last flight in the Costa Brava I wasn`t planning on staying onboard though!

I got on a plane that would take me up to go skydiving. And not just over any random place, this was above the Costa Brava, where I would be enjoying a stunning view over both the mountain range, the Pyrenees and the coastline.

It wasn`t my first skydive encounter (that was about 10 years ago in my home country) and back then I already thought of it is a once in a life time experience.

The emotions that go through you in just those few minutes of being in the air are very diverse: excited, anxious, nervous, scared, exhilarated, breathless, happy, in total awe and thrilled!

Excited: when you`ve decided you`re going to jump.

Anxious & nervous: when it hits you, you`re ACTUALLY going to do this!

Scared: getting onboard that plane and knowing you`ll be leaving it by jumping in mid-air…

Exhilarated: man, you`re jumping out of a plane!!! How can you not be exhilarated?!

Breathless: and I mean this literally, you`re gasping for air because of the air pressure and wind blowing in your face 🙂

Happy: OMG! You`re flying!!

Total awe: what an amazing view from up here!

Thrilled: the moment you land, you did it! The adrenaline still rushing through you … can I go again?

If you`re in doubt whether you should go skydiving, then let me tell you, it IS a once in a lifetime experience and what better place to experience it then above the Costa Brava with a spectacular view!

Fun facts:
* when in free fall, you can scream as much as you want, nobody can hear you
* onboard our plane was the Belgian skydiving team and they jump an average 12 – 16 times a day!

I was invited on this trip by Costa Brava Tourism and flights sponsored by Tourist office of Spain. However the opinions of this post are my own.

Hi Clara, that would have been: http://www.skydiveempuriabrava.com/ It was organized by the Costa Brava tourist board, but you can find all the info on their website. Hope that helps 🙂
