The sand, the water, the serenity, the jungle, the Colombian people–all made this beach unbelievable for us.

Sleeping on hammocks under a thatched room with no walls, swaying in the wind, hearing the deafening thud of coconuts dropping throughout the night from the massive palm trees.

We loved so many things about Tayrona, but most of all, it was the jungle paths that connected secluded beach to secluded beach to secluded beach. We finally found one that had literally no people along its mile long beach. We camped there for the day and did not see one single person all day long.

It was heaven, and I’ve never enjoyed a beach as much as this one.

This beach won last year 2nd place as the beaches of the world. I don’t remember the article at this moment.
