More travel preparations!

Travel Diary

More travel preparations! Yesterday I copied all the information: flight vouchers, hotel reservation,… This is important, because then you always have a back-up. There is another possibility, putting it all on a USB-stick. Then you have your information with you as well.

I put together an emergency sheet with all the phone numbers I think that can be of use. Because like everybody, I’ve been there: delay or cancellation of your flight, bags that aren’t where you are… (That’s why I now always have some clothes in my carry-on as well!) I can assure you, when having one of these problems, some phone numbers come in handy. It’s best to have at least the phone numbers of your insurance, the airline you’re flying with, hotels you’re staying at and if you booked through a travel agent, their phone number of course, because you can call them to help if you have problems.

I also made a list with the addresses we’re staying at for friends and family. So they know where I’m 🙂 Of course if you’re on a world trip or backpacking this isn’t that easy. But I’m staying at fixed addresses, that’s different. (more Travel Tips)

Today I packed my clothes. It’s always different, because it depends if you’re going on a city trip or an adventurous journey. But for a summer vacation, it isn’t that hard >>> tank tops, shorts, short sleeved t-shirts, dresses,… Just have to make sure I’m under the maximum weight 😉 (Which by the way you can find on the website of the airline you’re traveling with.) My checklists came in handy here!

Reminds me of this travel quote:

When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.” — Susan Heller

Sounds good to me! 🙂

I’ll try to post after I’m in the USA. Let’s see how good the internet connections work over there 😉
