Where will you be celebrating New Year?

By Isabelle 1 Comment

As New Year is approaching fast I`m sure all of you have your plans for New Years Eve ready, I thought it would be a good time to share where I`ll be celebrating the New Year.

I`m off to celebrate New Year in Scotland, Hogmanay in Edinburgh to be more precise.

Celebrating New Year: Hogmanay in Edinburgh

What will I be up to?

The Hogmanay events will start with the Torchlight Procession on Sunday. Thousands of torch carriers will illuminate the city from Chambers Street to the Son et Lumière finale on Capitol Hill.

On New Years Eve there will be three events:

  • Edinburgh`s Hogmanay Concert in Gardens Concert in the Gardens will open with Bwani Junction, who are followed by special guests The View, with headliners Simple Minds performing their greatest hits up to the midnight fireworks.
  • Edinburgh`s Hogmanay Street Party There will be stages with live music creating the biggest nightclub throughout the entire length of Princes Street.
  • Edinburgh`s Hogmanay Keilidh The Keilidh will offer non-stop Scottish ceilidh music and dancing throughout the night.

New Year`s Day will be filled with a number of events that`ll take place around the city. For example there will be a New Year`s Day Triathlon, Loony Dook, a festival in the afternoon and much more.

Want to know more about the events in Edinburgh? Then check out their official website: Edinburghshogmanay.org

As of tomorrow, I`ll be on my way to Scotland in time for the many events happening in Edinburgh. I hope you will follow along on Twitter, FB and Instagram, just be on the lookout for the #Blogmanay hashtag. After all the New Year`s events I`ll be joining Haggis Adventures to explore more of Scotland.

This campaign is brought to you by Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and is supported by VisitScotland, ETAG, Edinburgh Festivals, Haggis Adventures and Skyscanner. The campaign bloggers were sourced and managed by iambassador. As always, opinions are my own.

This sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate Hogmanay. Gotta say I’m a wee bit jealous 🙂
Would love to experience a Scottish Keilidh…and also a concert by Simple Minds…in Edinburgh, one of my favorite cities! Have a great time!
